Vanesa Baerga is from San Juan, Puerto Rico. She studied at the University of Puerto Rico, the University of Seville, and the University of Nottingham, England, where she pursued her master’s degree in communications and critical cultural studies. She’s lived in the city of Chicago since 2010. Vanesa has worked for and contributed to different media organizations in Latin America and the US. She is a 2015 Cultural Journalism Fellow at the Gabriel García Márquez Journalism Foundation in Cartagena, Colombia.

Vanesa Baerga es de San Juan, Puerto Rico. Estudió en la Universidad de Puerto Rico, la Universidad de Sevilla y en la Universidad de Nottingham en Inglaterra, donde hizo su maestría en comunicaciones y estudios culturales. Desde el 2010 vive en la ciudad de Chicago. Vanesa ha trabajado y colaborado para diferentes organizaciones de medios de comunicación en América Latina y Estados Unidos. Ella es becaria de la Beca Gabriel García Márquez 2015 de periodismo cultural de la FNPI en Cartagena, Colombia.
